I began integrating ice baths into my routine a few years ago when I joined a wellness centre that had a few. However, I soon realised any benefits of the bath were negated by the stress of waiting in line, overhearing other patrons' chats, and enduring overpriced sessions in under-serviced centres. Set up on a flat surface in a private outdoor space. Unfold the ice bath and assemble as per the manual.
Fill with cold water. Add 4–6 standard 5 kg ice bags for an extra chill, or pair with our Icon Chiller to reach 5°C in around 10 hours.
Let the water drop to your preferred temperature (4–10°C recommended for most users).
Step in, focus on slow breathing, and stay for 2–5 minutes if you’re new to cold therapy.
Beginner
2–3 minutes at ~12–15 °C to slowly ease into the sensations of ice baths, twice a week.
Intermediate
4–6 minutes at ~8–12 °C, increasing duration and intensity gradually, 3-4 sessions a week.
